We've had a few requests for Mobility Mondays requesting a post about mobility for deadlifts. Most of the questions are around hamstring tightness. We could do endless posts focused on improving your mobility for a deadlift, but honestly, everyone's problems may be different.
One of my biggest pain points during my workouts are overhead squats--I really can't do them at all. This month I have committed myself to improving my overhead squat. I don't do a lot of olympic lifting currently, mostly because of my mobility limitations, but I really want to work on fixing this weakness.
We are kicking off our "Mobility Monday" series with a quick warm-up from fitness coach and mobility expert, Mike Morrison. Mike has extensive experience training movement quality in clientele ranging from weekend warriors to professional athletes. He has a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia, where he was also a strength and conditioning coach. He then helped to train the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA before starting his own training business in Atlanta.
I recently returned from a 3 week vacation in Europe with my husband, and aside from the amazing memories and experiences, one thing in particular greatly impacted the experience of the trip--our choice to book an Airbnb house vs a hotel (like we normally do). Not only did the Airbnb save us money, it saved our waistlines as well!
